Why use Lands?

Lands is designed to be slick and dynamic to work with. It therefore incorporates utilities which will simplify the use of the AutoCAD commands. When a vegetal species is inserted, it will directly define the parameters to draw it on the plan view (crown diameter) and to represent it in 3D (height of the specimen).

A 2D plan is always understood easily if it is accompanied by a 3D image which shows the different views of the park or garden to be developed.

A presentation using photos or a virtual tour in which there is movement generate a better impression and interpretation of the design for the client. A rendered image is easier to understand than a 2D plane.

Lands is capable of defining the technical plane of the project made. To do this, it simplifies viewing the inserted species, inserts the table with the list of specimens and dimensions them around a fixed point (previously defined).

Lands has a list of more than 1800 species: Common and botanical name, suitable terrain for it to grow in, climate, soils, wind resistance, maritime conditions, flowering and fructification… This all allows you to view properties and select the ideal plant for your chosen terrain conditions.

The three dimensional tree distribution can generate shadows and all aspects of it can be edited. No two trees in nature have identical branch distribution. Lands meets this essential condition, making the project’s images or animations loyally represent any green space.

Lands plant library can be edited and extended, meaning that characteristics of existing trees can be changed or new elements can be created. It is possible to modify both the 2D representation and the different 3D tree parameters (branching, leaf shape, if it has fruit or not, textures, etc, …).

All the elements in the plant libraries can be represented according to the chosen season. So, a cherry tree will be in flower in the spring, have green leaves in summer and brown leaves in the autumn. In the winter it will have lost its leaves. The person who is shown the project can thereby get a perfect idea of what the garden will look like in the winter, for example, and decide if they want to make changes to the selected plants.

This includes terrains, fences, lattices, facades, paths, walls… all of them with simple dialog boxes to define each of their properties.

The application also installs libraries of urban street equipment and children’s play equipment required to be able to complement the project easily. The blocks are inserted in 2D or 3D and can be converted from 2D into 3D or vice versa.

An addition to latest Lands versions is the possibility of inserting sprinklers and pipes, and later obtaining a list giving details of the elements and the linear metres of piping in the project.

Lands generates lists of the different inserted elements: vegetal species, urban equipment, watering elements, zoning… each of them with the description of their own elements and the number of insertions for each of them. All these tables can be exported to Excel.

There are few landscape design software packages on the market. Most of them are libraries with specific landscaping blocks. This is why Lands is providing a set of tools to draw and design green areas.

Working with the elements which are included in Lands, you will spend less time in each project and reduce effort.
