Updates

These application upgrades and improvements are completely free, and users can download them to keep the product updated and continue using it with new Windows or AutoCAD versions that come out on the market.

The download is carried out from the application itself. When Lands detects an available update, it shows the user a message with the link to the corresponding download page. For more information on this process, please see the Online Help.

Below you can see the update history with the new features:

What’s New in Lands 4 Service Release 2:

Plant 2D shadows:

  • New command to generate 2D shadows of plants. Shadow properties can be edited, including sun height and direction.
  • Lands layers:

  • 2D layers for civil work (Dwarf walls/Hedges, Paths, Fences and Stairs)
  • Lands layers can be turned on/off from the Document Properties in the Edit Panel.
  • Listings:

  • You can choose among different border formats in Listings.
  • You can choose not to show the header.
  • You can choose the Listing justification inside the drawing.
  • Plant list:

  • The common name of the species can be used as a Plant list field.
  • Species:

  • You can edit the common name and the maximum height of the species inserted in the drawing.
  • 2D and 3D plant blocks have been optimized.
  • Plant database:

  • The plant preview shows all display levels available.
  • .ArPlantX file can be assigned in the database properties.
  • The display (2D, 3D or nXt) can be edited by clicking on the preview image.
  • AccuRender nXt:

  • Latest AccuRender nXt build is included (286 build).
  • Fixed bugs:

  • In Lands Studio, AccuRender nXt wouldn’t register correctly for automatic load in AutoCAD.
  • When starting Lands, the dialog to select AutoCAD version wouldn’t show correctly after clicking on “Show desktop”.
  • 18 / 11 / 2011

    What’s New:

    Fixed bugs:

  • When working with AccuRender nXt plants, Lands failed to insert a plant if the corresponding .ArPlantX file didn’t exist.
  • By default, plants rendered in the maximum leaf density, which was very slow.
  • 20 / 10 / 2011

    What’s new:

    General:

  • Optimization of the 3D display of Dwarf walls/Hedges, Paths and Stairs: mesh type AutoCAD objects were used instead of single faces.
  • Change in Lands template accuracy (metric unit system): from 0.0000 to 0.00 (centimeter accuracy).
  • Fixed bugs:

  • Some computers showed the message “License error” when starting the program for the first time, without having the choice to try the 30-day evaluation version.
  • 6 / 9 / 2011

    What’s New

    Fixed bugs:

  • Path creation failed.
  • Lands templates in the metric system of units opened a view with an extension of thousands of units. The zoom has been improved.
  • 30 / 8 / 2011

What’s New in Lands Service Release 4:

    Imperial system of units

  • New Lands templates specific to the Imperial system of units.
  • Option to select the system of units (Metric or Imperial) at Lands start.
  • Terrains:

  • Google Earth data import. You can easily obtain height data from the Google Earth window.
  • New option to smooth the terrain mesh (in grid mode)
  • Use of the new AutoCAD 2010 (or later) mesh type, which allows exceeding the limit of 32000 points and creating more extensive and detailed terrains.
  • Terrain generation is faster.

  • Cuts and fills and holes are applied by elevating the terraing grid (in grid mode) instead of using Boolean operations, obtaining intuitive and foolproof results.
  • Cuts and fills and holes are applied in the order they were added to the terrain, allowing a better control of the final result.
  • The terrain box takes on the terrain contour curve properties (material, color, and layer).
  • When the user edits the color, material or layer of a division, the terrain is updated without regenerating.
  • Plants:

  • Optimization of the plant 3D representation on the drawing. The “foliage density” property no longer affects the representation on the drawing and is only used in nXt rendering of plants. This reduces the DWG file size drastically and speeds up operations with plants.
  • Edit Panel:

  • When selecting a species in the edit panel, all the plants of that species are selected on the drawing.
  • New context option to edit all the plants of the same species.
  • General:

  • Error tab in object properties. When a complex object can’t be generated correctly, errors are reported in a separate property sheet to make it easier to fix them, and the object is shown schematically in red on the drawing.
  • New preset layer status.
  • The Update command keeps the object selection on the drawing.
  • AccuRender nXt:

  • The most stable AccuRender nXt build is included (271 build).
